Architecture for Humanity Vancouver makes its public debut this Spring when it hosts the art event of the season, Auction 2009.
A charity art auction open to the public, the event will be held at the Grace Gallery on Friday, April 3. Up for bid are a variety of works by local artists, sketches from renowned architects and a piece from internationally acclaimed local artist Stan Douglas.
Architecture for Humanity Vancouver is a volunteer organization and brings architectural solutions and design services to communities in need. It is the local chapter of the international body, founded in 1999, which through design build programs, partnerships with community development groups, workshops, educational forums, and other activities creates opportunities for architects and designers from around the world to build a more sustainable future.
